Game time: 6:30pm EST on TSN (HD), Versus (HD), RDS (HD), SUN (HD) and on the radioFree Stuff: The Lightning are giving away 20,000 shirts tonight to create a "blue out" effect
The Lightning have won two in a row! But does coach Boucher change the way he approaches this game?
"It's because for me, the roles are not reversed. For me, it's one game, and every game's a championship game," -via Raw Charge
Obviously big game tonight. The first of two in a back-to-back game at the St. Pete Times Forum.
The Capitals are down 2-0 in the series, which as we learned last series, doesn't mean that much if you have the will. But going down 3-0? Well it would be statistically very hard to come back from being down 3-0, so expect the Caps to unleash their firepower tonight.
The Lightning have played a patient game and were able to capitalize on their chances, but were being severely outshot by the Caps in Game 2. Even if Boucher says he is not worried by that, the Lightning still need to work on reducing the number of shots that Roloson sees.
Both teams need to quit taking dumb careless penalties. It felt like the entirety of the 1st and 2nd period was spend on the PP or PK. I'm sure fans of both teams were enraged by how many were called last game against either team. So if you know the refs are going to call them, then quit taking them. The Caps haven't got any PP goals so far in the series, but the time might come when they get their sh-t together.
Yesterday, Guy Boucher said the chances that Simon Gagne and Pavel Kubina would play tonight would be slim, so expect the same lineup as on Sunday night.
Remember that the game is an early start tonight, with puck drop at 6:30pm so plan ahead to find a way to get out work quickly. The team is also attempting to do a "blue out" by giving away free blue t-shirts.
Go Bolts!
