I'm not sure how cat pee works, but the ladies at Couch Tarts says that it has wondrous powers. Brew some coffee because it's going to be a late start...

The Lightning are out in Cali for one game before heading to Colorado for the last game before the Christmas break. We'll play the Sharks twice this year and tonight is the first of the two meetings.

For the first time in a while, the Lightning are on a two game win streak. Crap that sounds terrible, but we're terrible so I must come to grips with it. After losing 5 of 6 games, the Sharks are also on a two game win streak coming into tonight.

Like us, the Sharks have their share of problems with the team. The Sharks are ranked 29th in the NHL on the PK. This is not a new issue for them as their PK sucked last season too. Also sucking for the Sharks is the fact that Thornton and Havlat (not playing tonight) really haven't scored in the last month (besides the goal each against Edmonton). And Dan Boyle whose play was sub-Dan Boyle standards was playing on a broken foot for the past month.

Some promising news is that Martin St. Louis has made the trip with the team. He also practiced with the team yesterday and today at HP Pavilion with a full cage mask on. He's a game time decision for tonight's game.

Go bolts

Line-up Notes:

  • Garon will get the start in goal
  • Thompson and Gilroy are out with injury
  • St. Louis is a game time decision
  • Havlat is out for the Sharks tonight
