More coaches fired! Today Montreal fired Jacques Martin with Randy Cunneyworth stepping in as interim head coach. Yet Columbus who is the worst team in the league still hasn't fired Scott Arniel?

Speaking of coaches, this is the same team that had offered the coaching position to Boucher before he decided on going to work for Tampa.

The Lightning had a win over Calgary and played a good 40 minutes in the game only to almost give up the game in the 3rd period. Stamkos came back in overtime to win it, but it was still a close call. Tonight we play the worst team in the league who has been struggling in everything. But don't them out of it since we are not doing much better than them in the standings.

Vinny Prospal will be honoured tonight for playing 1,000 NHL games. Fitting that it's against the Lightning as he played 468 games with our team. He had 3 stints with the Lightning and still owns 2 houses in Tampa with plans to retire here after he's done playing.

From Aaron Portzline's blog Puck-Rakers:

"It's going to be special," Prospal said. "Very meaningful for me. The honor goes also to my wife and my family, right? So it is perfect because the applause will be, in some measure, for them as well as for me. That's how I will hear it."

Garon will be in net facing his old team tonight. He spent two hears with the team backing up Mason. One of the reasons CBJ didn't want to re-sign him because they didn't want 2 right-gove goalies on the team. Steve Mason is expected to start in net for the BJ's

Columbus is on the last game of their 5 game homestand, going 1-3.

Go bolts

Line-up Notes:

  • Garon will get the start in goal
  • Ohlund, St. Louis and Gilroy are out with injury
  • Evan Oberg has been called up
